COMMUNITY YOUTH CAFE

Just a quick note to keep you up to date on the happenings in the Youth Cafes.

In recent weeks the Cafes have returned with ever growing numbers, both the primary school going age group and the the post primary school going age group. Last week the primary school going age group had 19 children while the post primary school going age group had 14 youths present. In both cafes children and youths from last season have returned to reunite with friends made there and some have also brought along some new friends also. This is a great sign considering that there was little if any advertisement about the return of the cafes to the ARD Family Resource Centre recently.

As with the earlier season of the cafes, the volunteers are putting in great work and support and there is already a couple of ideas for educational and positive activities being organised by the young people that attend the cafes.

One such event is the up and coming Cake Sale/Party. This will be held by the children and youths of both cafes next Tuesday from 5pm in aid of Alan Kerins Projects and the Family Resource Centre. There will be some fantastic spot prizes on the night also!!

Please feel free to let parents and other community people know that the event will be taking place. If anyone could give a hand before 5pm setting up please let us know (many hands make light work!!)
