International Dance Festival

The International Dance Festival which is being hosted in aid of Special Olympics Connaught in the Radisson hotel on Saturday, May 14^th from 7,30 pm.

The event is being organised by NUI Galway members of staff and Sisters of La Retraite and will gather performers from Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, India, Slovakia, Brazil, France, Russia and many more.

This year is particularly special, as 22 athletes from the Connaught region will represent their country as part of Team Ireland- a delegation of 126 athletes who will participate in the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Greece in June.

For these athletes to progress to World Games is a remarkable achievement. They have competed against 11,000 athletes over the past four years to get the opportunity to represent their country on an international sporting stage.
