Family Enrichment Programme
The Pastoral Council of the Good Shepherd Parish, aims this year to start a programme to support all our married couples in their love, so that their marriage can be as fruitful and life giving as possible right through their lives.
A preliminary meeting to explore ideas for this programme will be led by Fr Michael Screene of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart from Croi Nua on Wednesday 16th February in the Parish Centre @7.30pm. An Implementation Group will be formed on the night.
The initial idea is for a series of talks on topics such as expectations in marriage, communication skills, time for each other, stages in marriage etc but other ideas will be welcome.

We would encourage couples to attend this together as just being present offers support to each other
World marriage Day is celebrated this year on Sunday 13th February. Fr Michael Screene will speak at mass in the Parish Centre on that day.
Classes for parents of all age groups will be offered either locally or in Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Newtownsmith from week beginning February 7th, 2011. If you need support phone Eileen or Eilish at the Diocesan Pastoral centre, 091 565066

SEEING YOUR LIFE THROUGH THE LENS OF THE GOSPELS
Matthew 45 1-11
Matthew 45 1-11
Read the Beatitudes slowly. Stay with each one for a while. At first reading some may seem to describe a series of circumstances that could only be labelled as ones to be avoided at all costs. Let yourself get a sense of the paradox involved in each one. Perhaps you have had an experience of a deeper and more authentic life, a blessing, when:
You were poor - you knew your need of God:
You were poor - you knew your need of God:
You mourned - could feel for others
You were meek - neither spineless nor emotionally out of control;
You hungered and thirsted for some cause;
You hungered and thirsted for some cause;
You were merciful rather than vengeful:
You were pure in heart - single-minded;
You were a pacemaker;
You were pure in heart - single-minded;
You were a pacemaker;
You were persecuted because you stood for something
Music:
We are looking for people to be involved in music ministry in the parish: singers, musicians AND people to operate the PowerPoint slides. For info about what's involved, talk to the music group today or call
