Punishment without Law to begin in Coill Tire.
From the 1st of March 2012, clamping of cars will be a punishment for not displaying a parking permit in Coill Tire, Doughiska, Galway. This is punishment without law and a violation of article 7 of the European Convention on Human rights Act 2003. The parties involve in this scheme do not represent any authority and as such are enforcing a practice that has no legal backing.
Winters Property Management in collaboration with APCOA Parking Ireland Ltd will be enforcing this draconian law claiming that the decision was instigated and voted by the Coill Tire Residence Association at a recent AGM without any public consultation.
As a residence of Coill Tire, I do not need anyone's permission to park in front of my house and that includes any car parked with my consent. I have right of way to my house and as at the time of purchase, the house was advertised as a semi-detach house with parking space. There was no mention of communal parking space or that the estate belongs to Winters Property Management.
Winters Property Management was appointed to manage the estate and not to carryout duties meant for local authorities and on enquires, the Galway City council is not involved or aware of this development.
