Our Goal

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

ALâ, the community theatre organisation, is starting off a new series of weekly workshops with an Open Night on Wednesday, 21st September at 7.30pm in the Ballybane Community Resource Centre. The workshops are open to the public.
You do not need any experience in drama, just a desire to have fun and learn new skills. Workshops will be open-minded, enjoyable and challenging, where the mix of social backgrounds will be a source for inspiration and creation. Participants will develop their skills in performance through exercises, improvisations and various themes.
Community is at the heart of the ALâ organisation. We look to tell stories which are based on day-to-day issues, which are told directly by people in the community. These are great stories that have heroes and heroines, they make us laugh, cry and are universal in its nature.

ALâ is in its 8th year and has done over 300 workshops and performed many plays, most of which are devised by members. The event is free with a suggested donation of €5. If you are interested in taking part please call Deirdre Dooley at            085 1434305       or email us at alagalway@gmail.com. Visit www.ala-ct.ie for more information.
