Family Enrichment Programme
The Pastoral Council of the Good Shepherd Parish, aims this year  to start a programme to support all our married couples in their love, so that their marriage can be as fruitful and life giving as possible right through their lives.
A preliminary meeting  to explore ideas for this programme will be led by Fr Michael Screene of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart from Croi Nua on Wednesday 16th February in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm. An Implementation Group will be formed on the night.
The initial idea is for a series of talks on topics such as expectations in marriage, communication skills, time for each other, stages in marriage etc but other ideas will be welcome.
We would encourage couples to attend this together as just being present offers support to each other
World marriage Day is celebrated today, Sunday 13th February and Fr Michael Screene will speak at Mass.

The Samaritans
The Samaritans vision is for a society in which:
Fewer people die by suicide;
People are able to explore their feelings;
People are able to acknowledge and respect the feelings of others.
To do this we rely on members of the public to volunteer their time.  Meetings taking place on: Tuesday, 22nd February at 7.30 p.m. in the Oranmore Lodge Hotel, Oranmore and on Tuesday, 1st March at 7.30 p.m. in the Galway Bay Hotel, Salthill.

SEEING YOUR LIFE THROUGH THE LENS OF THE GOSPELS
Matthew 5 17-37
In this section of the Sermon on the Mount Jesus proposes standards that go beyond external ways of behaviour but challenge how we feel in our hearts.  When have you found that living out of inner conviction is more life giving than keeping up appearances?
For Jesus persons with genuine authenticity do not need to swear an oath to be convincing.  Their ‘yes’ or ‘no’ suffices.  Recall people who had this kind of credibility for you.  When have you found that your simple, direct and honest communication had a positive persuasive force?

Calling all youth to give expression to their young lives in  song  & prayer in a youth litrgy on Sunday 20th of March. For more details please contact Siobhain Bradley - 087-9271542
