"Marriage is a journey, not a destination."
The Pastoral Council of the Good Shepherd Parish, aims this year to start a programme to support all our married couples in their love, so that their marriage can be as fruitful and life giving as possible right through their lives.
A preliminary meeting to explore ideas for this programme will be led by Fr Michael Screene of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart from Croi Nua on Wednesday 16th February in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm. An Implementation Group will be formed on the night.
The initial idea is for a series of talks on topics such as expectations in marriage, communication skills, time for each other, stages in marriage etc but other ideas will be welcome.
We would encourage couples to attend this together as just being present offers support to each other.
- Fr Michael Screene will give a talk on enriching relationships.
- There will be room for questions and discussion.
- A short tea break will follow.
- There will be a discussion section to plan and agree on issues/topics to be covered in the programme. People's ideas and suggestions will be welcomed.
- A planning / implementation group to oversee the running of the programme will be formed. Volunteers welcomed.
- Fr Michael brings a wealth of knowledge, research and study in this area of relationships.
- We believe this evening should be an enjoyable experience for couples and we hope they will gain much from it.
